TROW Fale

We have worked alongside TROW Group to design a series of Fale in response to the eruption of Hunga Tonga - Hunga Ha’apai in January 2022, which left families displaced
and houseless.

The TROW Fale regenerate Fale Fakatonga values and spatial principles to make housing more accessible to families post-natural disasters in Tonga. Trow’s unique circular economic model utilises repurposed materials from Aotearoa to build the structure as a framework for Tongan families to adapt locally sourced materials for interior/ exterior lining. The model promotes Pasifika values of unconditional reciprocity, economy of mana, and innovation.
