Salagi Malae

Salagi Malae is by-Pasifika for-Pasifika housing development led by Laupua Development and Salagi Family Trust. The organisation’s ambition is to support Pasifika families in South Auckland into home ownership pathways. Following this ethos, the design celebrates Pasifika cultural values and design systems by weaving them into the design development of seven terraced houses and shared outdoor spaces. The project draws inspiration from Mike Austin and Albert Refiti’s exhibition by integrating indigenous Pasifika building aesthetics and technologies.
